Try many of them and enjoy what Ikaria has to offer along its mysterious, dazzling coastline. That said, the beaches below should definitely be on any top list:
First - here are the most talked about ‘Best beaches’ on Ikaria:
Seychelles Beach. This is the most photographed beach on Ikaria. The rocky path to get here is tricky, with a bit of a rock scramble at the end. You’ll need shoes sturdier than flip flops. If you’re prone to vertigo, boat taxis can drop you off here from neighboring seaside villages. (location: between Magganitis and Plagia). (Where to stay: Peskeski Ikaria, Pyrgos Traditional Village, Ikaria Studios)
Livadi and Mesachti Beaches. These are Ikaria’s popular long sand beaches that stretch along the main road between Armenistis and Gialiskari villages. The beach scenes are lively and full during summer days, with beach bars spinning chillaxing tunes well into the evening. The Ikaria Surf School teaches paddle boarding and surfing here. (location: Armenistis) (Where to stay: Erofili Beach Hotel, Cavos Bay Hotel, Armenistis View Hotel)
Iero Beach. By far this is the best spot on Ikaria for snorkeling. It’s not far from the airport yet wonderfully secluded and full of little fishes. Pack your mask and snorkel and get ready to look under the sea! (Location: close to the airport ) (Where to stay: Drakano Rooms, Evon’s Rooms, Plumeria Flowery)
Faros Beach. Ikaria’s favorite ‘family’ beach on the southeastern edge of Ikaria. There is a row of great beachside tavernas here too. (Where to stay: Drakano Rooms, Evon’s Rooms, Anefanti Villas)
Nas Beach. Come here to watch the sunset! A swimsuit is optional, so don’t be surprised if you see the ‘nude’ option being exercised. Explore the ruins of the Temple of Artemis towards the back of the beach. (Location: Nas) (Where to stay: Cavos Bay Hotel, Artemis Studio, Toxotis Villas)
